PRODUCT INNOVATION RECOGNITION FOR PERMANITE'S ECOWRAP

Permanite Engineered Roofing Systems have been recognised by the Construction Products Association (CPA) for its product innovation, and are featured within the 2009 edition of Construction Products Innovation and Achievement (CPIA).

PermaTEC Ecowrap was chosen to feature within Energy & Carbon Saving, and is 1 of only 24 innovations nationwide to be chosen for this year’s publication, which annually showcases the most innovative products and processes created by the construction products industry during the last twelve months.

Permanite Engineered Roofing Systems’ PermaTEC EcoWRAP, is a hot applied waterproofing compound which is manufactured from a specially formulated combination of refined bitumen, synthetic rubbers, fillers and other additives. PermaTEC Ecowrap is the first hot melt waterproofing system to be manufactured with ‘zero wrapper waste’.  The compound is encapsulated in a thin film which blends into the material when heated.  Ecowrap was also the first hot melt product to be manufactured in the UK, delivering a dramatically smaller carbon footprint than competing products in the market. The product is delivered direct from factory to the site in one operation. It is suitable for use as the waterproofing layer on most flat roofing systems when covered by suitable protection or when used in an inverted roof or green roof specification.

Despite the economic downturn in the UK, and the construction industry suffering more than most, you only need look at the products and processes showcased in CPIA to highlight the huge input the industry is making towards change”.
